Memorial Trees in British Columbia

Incorporating cremated ashes into living memorials

It's not always clear what to do with ashes. Many families sit with that question for a long time - not from indecision, but because the person or pet they lost deserves something that feels right.

If you're still weighing all of your options as a BC family, this guide may help: What to Do With Cremated Ashes in Vancouver & BC.

Tribute Trees offers families across Vancouver and British Columbia a thoughtful way forward - growing a living memorial tree in soil specially formulated to integrate cremated ashes.
Send all of the ashes, or just a portion. Either way, something of them keeps growing, at home and part of your daily life.
A Tribute Tree can be the only memorial you need. Or it can sit alongside an urn, a keepsake, a burial plot, or a place where ashes have been scattered. It doesn't have to replace anything you've already chosen.
Many families create more than one tree so that each person who loved them has something living of their own.
Not a place to visit. A presence to live alongside.
Tribute Trees honours the lives of people and beloved pets. Because some bonds don't need explaining.

When Your Tree Arrives

Each Tribute Tree is carefully cultivated over four to 12 weeks after we receive the ashes, depending on the amount you choose to send.
Once your tree is ready, outdoor trees are delivered during appropriate planting conditions, pausing only in July and August when summer heat and dry soil make it the wrong time for new roots to establish. Indoor trees are delivered year-round, ready to be potted and cared for at home.

Our Commitment

Tribute Trees creates living memorial trees - for people and pets - with careful attention to every step, from the soil blend to the moment the tree arrives at your door. Where traditional memorials are fixed and far away, a Tribute Tree grows at home - a living presence, not a distant one.

Based in Vancouver, British Columbia, we serve families across the Lower Mainland and beyond.

Grown with Care and Science

Our cultivation process takes between four and 12 weeks and is both precise and considered.

With careful attention to soil chemistry and structure, we gradually incorporate the ashes into a stable, balanced environment that supports strong root development and long-term growth.
  • Gradual incorporation safely integrates ashes with high pH and mineral content.
  • Soil conditions carefully managed to support healthy root development from the start.
  • Each tree is monitored throughout cultivation to ensure strength and durability.

How It Works

How Our Memorial Trees Are Created

1. Choose Your Tree
Select the memorial tree that feels right for your space and the loved one - or beloved pet - you wish to honour.
2. Receive Your Stewardship Kit
We send a thoughtfully prepared kit with everything needed to return the ashes safely and simply. Send them all or just a portion, whatever feels right. Each kit includes a labeled collection bag and a secure, pre-paid return package, with a unique ID and QR code so your loved one's ashes are tracked throughout.
3. We Grow Your Tree
Once we receive the ashes, your cultivation begins. Depending on the amount of ashes you send, this takes between four and 12 weeks. We carefully incorporate them into a specially prepared soil blend, monitoring pH and root development throughout.
4. Your Tree Comes Home
We deliver outdoor trees across British Columbia year-round, pausing only in July and August. Indoor trees are available in every season. Your tree arrives ready to plant or pot and ready to grow.
